HP laptop keyboard replacement
Keys missing, sticking, or not working after a spill: we replace HP keyboards with the right UK layout and backlight.
What’s it doing?
| Symptom | Usually means |
|---|---|
| Keys not working | Usually liquid or a failed keyboard. Sometimes the ribbon cable has worked loose. |
| Key came off | Single keys and hinges can sometimes be refitted; otherwise the keyboard is replaced. |
| Typing by itself | A shorted key from liquid. Switch off and don’t keep typing. |
| Backlight not working | The backlit keyboard or its cable. We fit backlit replacements where the original was backlit. |
On many newer HP laptops the keyboard is riveted to the top case, so the whole palmrest is replaced. That’s normal and gives you a new palmrest too.

Questions
How long does it take?
Most repairs take one to three working days once the part arrives. We order the exact part for your model and product number.
Do you give a price first?
Yes. We diagnose the laptop and tell you the price before any repair. Nothing is done until you agree.
Is my data safe?
A repair doesn’t wipe your storage. If we ever need to reinstall Windows, we copy your files off first and check them with you.
